We support children’s learning through a range of projects during their time at nursery. Project work enables groups of children and whole base rooms to immerse themselves in a project for a period of time based on the children’s interests.

Projects begin with teachers observing and questioning children about the topic of interest. Based on children’s responses, teachers introduce resources, activities, questions, and opportunities that provoke children to further explore the topic. While some of these teacher provocations are anticipated, projects often move in unanticipated directions as a result of questions children identify.

These projects are supported by visitors coming into the centre, walks in the village, festivals, celebrations and many other resources.

We welcome visitors who would be happy to share their experience or interests from their work or leisure interests to support children’s knowledge and understanding of the world.
