Toddler room
The toddler room is a warm, engaging and exciting space for your active toddler. A light and airy room, equipped with a range of high quality resources includes areas for Montessori sensorial activities, role play, sand and water, book corner, art and craft, construction, small world and puzzles.
Children enjoy their play, learn to socialise and share, whilst understanding the need to care for themselves, for others and for their immediate environment. Children also enjoy a range of activities, festivals, visitors and celebrations.
The children make the most of the nursery garden which is equipped with a range of open ended materials, sandpit, slide, mud kitchen, decked area and growing area. See Outdoor Learning.
Early Montessori activities support the child’s sensorial development, early language, physical skills and personal social and emotional development. Towards the end of your child’s time in the toddler room, we undertake a two year progress check (as part of the Early Years Foundation Stage) to update you on your child’s development.
Your child’s Keyperson will work with you sharing daily information and your child’s Special Book which celebrates their unique personality, dispositions and interests.
